Matt & Izabela Tie the Knot
Sunshine, a charming church, and a family overflowing with love – Matt and Izabela’s picture perfect wedding in Horsham was a photographer’s dream. Held at the historic St. Mary’s Church at the end of May, the day unfolded with a joyful mix of tradition, humour and tender moments.
There was a near-miss with tradition as Izabela arrived a touch early, with Matt almost catching a glimpse of her before the ceremony! Thankfully, all went smoothly once the ceremony began, with the church choir and organ adding an air of solemnity and joy to the proceedings.
Horsham’s Causeway and Camera-Shy Cuties
Following the ceremony, we captured group photos next to the picturesque Causeway, the oldest part of Horsham town. While Matt and Izabela’s eldest (age 4) was initially a bit camera-shy, he blossomed throughout the day. The younger two, twins, meanwhile, were lovingly looked after by their aunty, parents, and grandparents, allowing Matt and Izabela to enjoy the day fully.
The wedding truly reflected the couple’s backgrounds – Polish and English. It was heartwarming to see them bridging language barriers, finding ways to communicate throughout the day. This blending of cultures added a unique and touching element to the celebration, symbolising the union of not just two people, but two families, a beautiful testament to the unifying power of love and celebration.
Unexpected Surprise and Stolen Moments
Adding a touch of lightheartedness to the day, the couple’s transport to the reception was a surprise – a car driven by a real-life David Brent lookalike! This unexpected twist certainly brought smiles to Matt and Izabela’s faces.
At the reception venue, The Ginger Fox pub in Hassocks, we managed to capture some relaxed wedding portraits of the couple. Their son, however, now totally unfazed by my camera, wasn’t about to be left out! Spotting us together around the corner, he trotted over for a quick cuddle, holding onto his father’s leg, creating an extra special and picture perfect wedding image for Matt and Izabela to treasure.
Family Fun and a Sweet Ending
The Ginger Fox provided a fantastic atmosphere for the reception. With guests ranging from young families to older generations, from all walks of life and representing a multitude of cultures, it was a delight to see the children blowing bubbles, and enjoying the play area; guests chatting in the sun and enjoying drinks and canapes.
The cutting of the cake was another highlight, with Matt and Izabela holding their children close. Favours in the form of personalized biscuits added a personal touch to the day.
While the sunshine and joyous celebrations made it feel like the day could go on forever, the couple, with a young family in tow, opted for a slightly earlier finish. By 5pm, they were ready to depart, ensuring their children were well-rested and happy.
It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and family togetherness – a truly picture perfect wedding and a wonderful start to Matt and Izabela’s new chapter in life as husband and wife.
