It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged about a maternity shoot but it’s always such a privilege to be able to photograph an expectant mum. With all the excitement and anticipation of their imminent arrival, it’s just a fantastic time of life to capture beautiful memories.

Here are a few photos from a maternity photo shoot I did last week. This soon to be mum asked me to capture a selection of maternity photographs for her to remember this time by. As ever, I agreed and we arranged a date for her maternity photo shoot.

In the weeks leading up to the shoot we discussed the best maternity photo outfits for her as well as looking at poses she liked. So by the time it came to the photo shoot we had a good idea of what we were looking to achieve. The only minor issue is that we had hoped her other half could make it but sadly he had to work; but that was fine as we had plenty to work with anyway.

She brought about four different outfits, a couple of dresses and a casual jeans and white shirt combo that worked beautifully; especially with the shirt un-buttoned to let the bump get all the attention it deserved.

With this baby being due around Easter time we even managed to dress the bump as an easter egg…or at least that’s what I think it looks like. Actually I think it’s one my new favourite maternity photos, there’s just something about it that works for me.

The other photo here is the LOVE photo, and again it’s a classic, I think it looks great and would work well printed up big on a canvas in their home.

Anyway, if you’re looking for great maternity photos…I’d love to hear from you.
